ILITEK Touch IC Selection and Applications

Founded in November 2004, ILITEK is a professional manufacturer focused on panel driving and touch IC design. With its two core technologies of display and touch, the company occupies an important position in the global semiconductor field. Since its establishment, the company has always centered its strategy on technology integration, successfully launching the TDDI (Touch and Display Driver Integration) product series in 2017, which integrates display driving and touch functions, marking the beginning of a new era of “single-chip solutions” that significantly simplify the design process of terminal products and reduce costs.

ILITEK’s product line covers a wide range of consumer applications, including mobile phones, tablets, laptops, industrial control, gaming, wearables, televisions, and automotive displays, forming a product matrix that provides “full scene coverage and full size adaptation”.

Touch IC Selection Guide

ILITEK’s touch IC product series is designed with differentiated features based on screen size, application environment, and performance requirements. Key models and selection points for each series are as follows:

ILI21xx Series:

Cost-effective choice for small size scenarios

This series is primarily aimed at small screens ranging from 7 to 12.1 inches, emphasizing low power consumption and high stability, widely used in smartphones, tablets, wearables, and small industrial control panels. Key model features are as follows:

• ILI2117A: 41 touch channels, supports screens of 7 inches and below; features 2mm cover glass penetration, compatible with 2mm thick glove touch; supports 10V common mode voltage and waterproof function, suitable for consumer portable devices.

• ILI2118A: 49 touch channels, maximum support for 10.1-inch screens; characteristics are consistent with ILI2117A, adapting to larger tablets or small displays while maintaining cost advantages.

• ILI2130: 47 touch channels, supports 10.1-inch screens; upgraded to support 8mm cover glass penetration (better than other models in the series), I2C interface design, operating temperature range -40℃ to 85℃, suitable for industrial control scenarios with cover thickness requirements.

• ILI2131: 58 touch channels, maximum support for 12.1-inch screens; inherits the 8mm cover penetration and waterproof features of ILI2130, with an increased number of channels, suitable for larger industrial control screens or small automotive displays.

ILI23xx Series:

High-performance solutions for medium to large sizes

This series focuses on medium to large screens ranging from 32 to 65 inches, achieving precise touch through high channel counts and high drive voltages (Vtx), mainly applied in smart TVs, gaming monitors, industrial control large screens, and digital signage. Key models include:

• ILI2322: 140 touch channels, supports 32-inch screens; Vtx drive voltage increased to 15V, compatible with both USB and I2C dual interfaces; supports 10mm cover glass penetration and waterproof function, operating temperature -40℃ to 85℃, suitable for home smart TVs or commercial displays.

• ILI2323: 170 touch channels, maximum support for 43-inch screens; increases the number of channels based on ILI2322, adapting to larger gaming screens or conference tablets while maintaining 15V high drive voltage and dual interface design.

• ILI2136: 220 touch channels, single chip supports 65-inch ultra-large screens; Vtx drive voltage upgraded to 30V (industry-leading level), can penetrate 10mm thick cover glass; compatible with USB/I2C interfaces, suitable for 65-inch smart TVs, digital signage, or large industrial control panels, solving the problem of insufficient touch sensitivity on large screens.

ILI25xx Series:

Integrated solutions for full size coverage

This series caters to both medium (15.6-23.8 inches) and small size scenarios, emphasizing high integration and low energy consumption, applied in laptop touchpads, all-in-one machines, and medium industrial control devices. Key models are as follows:

• ILI2511: Highly integrated single-chip capacitive touch controller; supports multi-finger (up to 10 fingers) simultaneous tracking, built-in electromagnetic interference (EMI) technology; suitable for smartphones, tablets, and industrial control devices, balancing precise touch and low power consumption, ideal for products with high interaction experience requirements.

• ILI2520: 65 touch channels, supports 15.6-inch screens; Vtx=15V drive voltage, USB/I2C dual interface, 10mm cover penetration and waterproof function, operating temperature -40℃ to 85℃, suitable for laptop touch screens or medium all-in-one machines.

• ILI2521: 110 touch channels, maximum support for 23.8-inch screens; significantly increases the number of channels compared to ILI2520, suitable for 23.8-inch all-in-one machines or industrial displays, maintaining 15V drive voltage and full environmental adaptability.

ILI27xx Series:

Automotive and industrial-grade selection for harsh environments

This series is AEC-Q100 certified, emphasizing a wide operating temperature range, specifically designed for automotive displays, industrial control, and other harsh environments. Representative model:

• ILI2712: 72 touch channels, supports 12.3-inch screens; AEC-Q100 automotive certification, operating temperature range extended to -40℃ to 105℃ (can withstand high temperature, high humidity, vibration, and other harsh environments); supports 10mm cover penetration and waterproof function, suitable for automotive central control screens, instrument panel touch, or industrial high-temperature scenario devices.

ILI6600A:

Benchmark TDDI product in the automotive safety field

As ILITEK’s flagship model for touch and display driver integration (TDDI), the ILI6600A is designed specifically for automotive displays, compliant with ISO 26262 ASIL B functional safety standards, and features real-time fault detection capabilities to ensure touch reliability during driving. Its core features include:

• Supports up to 960 touch channels scanning, compatible with both LongV (long vertical scanning) and LongH (long horizontal scanning) modes;

• Integrates virtual touch keys, knob controls, and other automotive-specific functions, suitable for automotive central control, heads-up displays (HUD), and other scenarios;

• Operating temperature range covers -40℃ to 85℃, meeting the stability requirements of automotive environments, making it one of the mainstream selections in the current automotive TDDI field.
