GCC certification (General Certificate of Conformity) is a requirement specified in the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA). UL4200A and GCC certification (Note: The reporting standard for button cell battery products is UL4200A, and the GCC certificate is generated simultaneously upon completion of the report) is crucial for button cell battery products entering the U.S. market.Starting from March 19, 2024, all button cell battery products entering the U.S. market must comply with the UL 4200A-2023 standard. This standard, enacted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), becomes a mandatory safety regulation applicable to all consumer products containing button cells (regardless of whether the batteries are replaceable or rechargeable), aimed at reducing the risk of battery ingestion by children aged six and under. The requirements for GCC certification are as follows:

Regarding the compliance requirements for button cell battery products after obtaining GCC certification:
● Nameplate label requirements (choose one based on the actual product, label two is recommended)
Nameplate Label One:

Requirements: Triangle exclamation logo ≥5mm, WARNING ≥5mm, other text ≥2.5mm.
The triangle exclamation logo must be on the same horizontal line as the bottom of WARNING. The height of the triangle exclamation logo must be ≥ the height of WARNING. Certain texts on the information board must be displayed in bold and uppercase letters, as shown in the warning label example, to attract the reader’s attention.
Nameplate Label Two: (Note: This logo must be placed separately, and its meaning should be explained in the manual)

Requirements: If space is limited on the product, this logo can be used; the yellow logo width ≥7mm and height ≥9mm.
● Color box requirements (Choose one of the three color boxes based on the actual product, the manual suggests treating it as the same meaning as the label)
Note: If the product does not have color box packaging, the warning label should be attached to the hang tag or label.
Color Box Label One

The triangle exclamation logo must be on the same horizontal line as the bottom of WARNING. The height of the triangle exclamation logo must be ≥ the height of WARNING. Certain texts on the information board must be displayed in bold and uppercase letters, as shown in the warning label example, to attract the reader’s attention. The blue logo on the right side must have a diameter ≥8mm.
Color Box Label Three

Requirements: Triangle exclamation logo ≥5mm, WARNING ≥5mm, other text ≥2.5mm.
The triangle exclamation logo must be on the same horizontal line as the bottom of WARNING. The height of the triangle exclamation logo must be ≥ the height of WARNING. Certain texts on the information board must be displayed in bold and uppercase letters, as shown in the warning label example, to attract the reader’s attention. The yellow logo on the right side must have a width ≥7mm and height ≥9mm.
Note: When the space on the main display panel of the color box does not allow for the above two warning labels, the two left warning labels can be used simultaneously: Label (top): affixed to the main panel; Label (bottom): affixed to the auxiliary panel.
● Manual warning requirements
