BD series
The BD series laser displacement sensors can measure the thickness, width, level difference, parallax, curvature, and flatness of target objects by detecting displacement. Regardless of the color or material of the target, the sensors provide accurate and stable measurement results. The sensor head and amplifier unit are detachable for easy maintenance, and up to 8 sensor amplifier units can be interconnected with interference prevention features.
Main Functions
• Reference Distance:
– Diffuse Reflective Type: 30/65/100/300/600 mm
– Retroreflective Type: 30/65/100 mm
• Detachable sensor head/amplifier unit for easy maintenance
• Maximum Resolution: 1μm (varies by model)
• Minimal impact from the color and material of the detected object, allowing stable detection (Diffuse Reflective Type)
• Measurement of mirror or transparent materials (Retroreflective Type)
• Precise measurement, minimizing the influence of target color or material
• Up to 8 sensor amplifier units can be interconnected: Interference prevention and automatic channel sorting
• Supports various calculation functions (addition, subtraction, averaging)
• Multiple filtering functions for stable measurement (moving average, differential, median)
• Automatic sensitivity adjustment (1-point, 2-point teaching)
• Dedicated software provided (AtDisplacement)
• Brackets for different installation angles (Retroreflective Type)
• DIN rail and wall mounting (requires wall mounting bracket)
• Sensor head: IP 67 protection rating
※ The BD-300/600 sensor head model only supports amplifier units (BD-A1) and communication converters (BD-C) with firmware version 5.0 or higher.

The sensor can accurately detect various target materials, including black/white paper, stainless steel, rubber, PCB, etc. The retroreflective type allows for stable measurements of reflective and transparent materials.

Accurate measurement of displacement for various materials

Easy configuration with moving average, differential, and median filters
Moving average, differential, and median filters can be used to provide stable compensation for sudden displacements caused by device interference and other variables.
Median Filter

Eliminates any sudden value changes
Moving Average Filter

Averages measurement values to reduce overall variation
Differential Filter

Transmits the difference between current and previous measurement values,
used for sudden changes in measurement values.
Various Calculation Functions
Supports various calculation functions (OFF, add-AB, subAB, avg)
-OFF: Independent measurement (without calculation functions)
–add-AB: Adds measurement values from sensor heads A/B (for thickness measurement)
–subAB: Subtracts measurement values from sensor heads A/B (for level difference/parallax measurement)
–avg: Averages measurement values from all connected sensor heads (for flatness measurement)
– Interconnected sensor amplifier units cannot use more than 2 calculation functions

Measurement distance up to 1m
The BD-600 model can measure distances up to 1 meter, suitable for harsh environments such as high temperatures, and is characterized by measuring the width and slope of thick steel plates.

Maximum resolution of 1μm
The maximum resolution of the laser displacement sensor is 1μm (BD-030), used for stable and precise measurements.
* The resolution of the BD-300 model is 20μm

Brackets for different installation angles (Retroreflective Type)
Each model comes with a dedicated bracket for precise resolution.
The retroreflective type requires the sensor head to be installed at a specific angle, and the dedicated bracket facilitates user installation.

Sensor amplifier units automatically interconnect and prevent mutual interference
The interference prevention feature allows for the connection of up to 8 sensor amplifier units and automatically arranges the channels. (The power supply for the sensor amplifier units needs to be input separately)

Dedicated setup program ‘atDisplacement’
An intuitive interface allows real-time viewing of various measurement values through real-time data, real-time graphs, waveforms, etc. The set values can be viewed immediately during setup, providing ease of use.
Channel Graphs

Real-time monitoring of set values (SV).
Real-time Data

Displays the status and measurement values of the amplifier unit. For ease of future analysis, the data is automatically scaled.
Real-time Graphs

Displays the graph colors and current values (PV) of each channel amplifier.
Waveform

Real-time display of the received light waveforms from each unit.
Up to 8 sensor units can be monitored.
