For modern individuals, the greatest distance in the world is being connected to Wi-Fi yet unable to send messages.
Now, Wi-Fi has become an essential part of our work and life. However, with the rapid increase in users, the biggest challenge facing Wi-Fi is network capacity. The launch of the Qualcomm® Wi-Fi 6 network platform provides a technical foundation for solving network capacity issues.
Reliable for Multiple Users
When one person is at home, Wi-Fi speed is often not a concern. Watching dramas, movies, or playing games… nothing is affected. However, when friends gather, the speed can become inadequate. Group gaming often results in disconnections, and movies can stutter halfway through.
One important feature of Wi-Fi 6 is support for 8-stream MU-MIMO detection, allowing access points to serve more terminals simultaneously at double the data rate of 4-stream 11ac terminals. When the terminal itself supports 8-stream detection, an 8-stream access point can support up to twice the number of terminals and their associated throughput. Even during a party, the speed won’t disappoint.
Improved Device Battery Life
We’ve experienced too many awkward moments when mobile devices like phones and laptops run out of battery; battery life has become one of our top concerns.
The WCN3998 based on Wi-Fi 6 can reduce power consumption through target wake time, potentially lowering Wi-Fi power consumption by up to one-third, effectively extending the battery life of devices like smartphones. With this feature, there’s no need to worry that keeping the Wi-Fi button on will speed up battery drain.
Speed and Security
The security of mobile connectivity has always been a focal point of concern. There are numerous cases of personal information being leaked due to the careless use of public Wi-Fi.
Wi-Fi 6 also features support for the latest and most advanced security protocol, WPA3. WPA3 provides robust user password protection and enhanced privacy protection on both public and private Wi-Fi networks. WPA3 is a significant technological leap that offers strong security for the next generation of devices and will be an essential feature for the advancement of the 11ax platform.
Recently, at the Snapdragon Technology Summit, the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 855 mobile platform was announced, which can provide powerful next-generation Wi-Fi performance through the Qualcomm® Wi-Fi 6-ready mobile platform, bringing you a unique Wi-Fi experience.
As 11ax Wi-Fi technology continues to proliferate, Wi-Fi 6 will fundamentally change how Wi-Fi operates while utilizing network capacity more efficiently to create an excellent user experience for Wi-Fi users.
