IOLITE LX – Embedded Data Acquisition System
Product Overview
IOLITE LX – Embedded Data Acquisition System is an embedded data acquisition system based on a low-power ARM processor with an open architecture running Linux. The IOLITE LX can function simultaneously as a standalone data logger, a real-time control system, and a signal conditioning front end.

High-End Signal Conditioning: The IOLITE LX provides the same high-end signal conditioning modules as the IOLITE data acquisition and real-time control systems. Amplifiers are available for voltage, current, resistance, strain gauges, bridges, digital counters, RTD, and thermocouples.

Redundant Power Supply: The redundant power supply can seamlessly switch between available power sources, providing uninterrupted power even in demanding testing applications.

External Master Mode: The EtherCAT® master bus can be switched to external mode instead of being used internally by Dewesoft RT, allowing the IOLITE LX to be used like a conventional IOLITE system for high-speed data acquisition on a computer running DewesoftX DAQ software.

Secondary EtherCAT Bus: The secondary EtherCAT bus can be used in parallel to provide real-time data to any third-party control system.

Good Compatibility: Standard data interfaces are available for transferring data to various standard data interface real-time controllers, such as cloud servers and Industry 4.0 clients, including EtherCAT®, OPC UA, XCP, and CAN.

ARM Processor runs the new Dewesoft RT data acquisition software on Linux OS. The combination of Linux OS, ARM CPU technology, and Dewesoft RT makes the IOLITE LX an extremely flexible device, usable as a standalone data logger, real-time control system, or simply as a signal conditioning system for cloud or Industry 4.0 applications.
The IOLITE LX will continuously receive free software and firmware upgrades to enable new features. We will always listen to customer needs and guide our R&D roadmap to integrate these requirements.
Dewesoft RT Embedded Data Acquisition Software
Dewesoft RT is a new embedded data acquisition software that runs on the Linux operating system platform supported by the built-in ARM processor of IOLITE.
Dewesoft RT consists of a few core components supporting data acquisition, channel configuration, data storage, and standard interfaces (XCP, CAN, USB, Ethernet, and EtherCAT). It is highly flexible and scalable, as its modular architecture allows for easy and quick adaptation and changes to fit specific applications or tasks.
Dewesoft RT is capable of very fast data transmission, real-time operations (such as real-time control), or watchdog functions. The capabilities of Dewesoft RT will grow over time based on application requirements. If you have application requirements, please contact us.
Standalone Data Logger with Built-in Storage Card
IOLITE LX features 32 GB of internal data storage. Additionally, we provide a storage expansion slot supporting up to 1 TB of standard SD cards and a USB Type-C port for external drives.
It can store any number of channel data at high sampling rates, making it ideal for embedded data acquisition.
The collected data can be used in parallel with monitoring systems such as Dewesoft historical time databases, SCADA systems, or cloud data services.
Anyone can use the included powerful and award-winning Dewesoft X data acquisition analysis software to view and analyze stored files.
Redundant EtherCAT Bus
EachIOLITE data acquisition system is equipped with two fully independent EtherCAT bus systems that operate in parallel.

Main Bus
The main bus is used for perfectly synchronized time-domain signal acquisition through Dewesoft X data acquisition software. The IOLITE LX connects to a PC running DewesoftX data acquisition software via any EtherCAT RJ45 cable, transmitting any number of input and output channels at high speed to the PC’s hard drive.

Secondary Bus
IOLITE‘s secondary EtherCAT bus is applied in the following two ways:
Low-latency data acquisition front-end interface, compatible with any third-party EtherCAT real-time controller
Additional bus for redundant third-party data acquisition systems in critical DAQ applications.
Perfect Support for Standard Data Interfaces
Using theIOLITE LX built-in standard data protocol, the collected data can be used for other data systems or controllers:
EtherCAT is the industry standard for real-time control applications. IOLITE LX uses two parallel EtherCAT buses. When switched to external host mode, the main EtherCAT bus is used for high-speed data acquisition to the computer, while the secondary bus is primarily used to provide real-time data to any third-party control system.
OPC UA is the leading standard for Industry 4.0 applications. Data can be provided in real-time to SCADA, ERP, and MES systems as well as mobile clients.
CAN and XCP on Ethernet provide real-time data to ECU calibration software such as ETAS INCA or Vector CANape with minimal latency.
Excellent Signal Conditioning
IOLITE provides outstanding signal conditioning. Through its input and output modules, you can measure voltage, current, strain, stress, vibration, sound, temperature, digital signals, counters, and more.
Proven high-quality data acquisition hardware combined with the award-winning DewesoftX data acquisition software allows for data acquisition without losing any data points. It also provides excellent data visualization and processing capabilities.
Data can be stored in a time-series database and transmitted to SCADA systems using standard interfaces such as OPC UA or XCP, truly supporting Industry 4.0 applications.
