For an introduction by Teacher Shen, please see:Nanjing Normal University Master Teacher, Xin’ao Coach enters the classroom, students achieve brilliance in competitions1. Do not treat programming as a means to advance in education; otherwise, it will not lead far, and the child will be very conflicted. For example, I initially had my child learn programming to prepare for the job market and keep up with the wave of artificial intelligence (AI).2. Parents who only send their children to class without supervising their homework at home will not learn programming well. Otherwise, why do so many send their children to class, yet not everyone can learn well? If you neglect the child, they will eventually give up.3. GESP is essentially a competition! It leads directly to CSP! Do not equate GESP level testing with drum or calligraphy level testing; one is an interest class level test—children can do it but may not perform well, while GESP is a competition level test—if you do not study seriously, you will not succeed.4. Besides sending them to class, what else should be done? Answer: Complete homework at home. The class will issue daily practice, and if there is free time, students should follow the teacher to solve one problem daily; over time, progress will be made. The basic class will require handwritten code.5. There is a process to getting started; do not rush it, be prepared for practice. Avoid trying to achieve everything at once; even I spent a semester learning C++ programming in college, let alone elementary school students!6. What should be noted to successfully pass GESP? Spend time after class thoroughly working on past exam papers.7. Students will not be arranged to solve problems during class; otherwise, it would waste too much time. Class will focus on teaching thinking techniques and strengthening logical training, while a lot of time must be spent reading problems after class. Don’t believe it? Ask experienced programming students; they will tell you: just understanding the problem and calculating a sample can take a lot of time.8. If the child cannot solve the problem, parents should not be too anxious to ask the teacher what to do! If the child cannot solve the problem, parents should not be too anxious to ask the teacher what to do! If the child cannot solve the problem, parents should not be too anxious to ask the teacher what to do! Because asking me will not help. If the child’s ability is lacking, what can I do? It indicates that parents have not emphasized the development of the child’s thinking ability from a young age. Review what needs to be reviewed, think about what needs to be thought about, and ensure the class content is well reviewed before proceeding. Cultivate slowly. If they cannot solve it, move on to the next problem; if they cannot do it, set it aside for class discussion or ask the teacher for problem-solving ideas after class.9. Programming level testing and competitions test courage. Parents must be brave themselves to encourage their children to be brave. Do not let your own anxiety make your child more nervous.10. Cherish the once-a-year competition opportunity and the four GESP level testing opportunities each year; if you do not perform well, you lose nothing, but if you do well, you know you have truly improved! It’s a win-win situation!11. I will notify parents to register for competitions; remember to register, pay attention to the time and location for card collection, and remember to participate in the exam! All scores or electronic certificates for the Blue Bridge Cup or GESP can be checked on the official website system using the child’s ID; they are not with me.12. I will not recommend competitions that lack substance. I only recommend those with high value.13. Students will create a separate group to share materials. The large group will only share public information.14. Services provided after payment include classes, Q&A, my online cloud classroom teaching library, training question bank, GESP past exam question bank, Blue Bridge Cup past exam question bank, and competition registration reminders. Generally, classes are once a week, relatively relaxed, and usually stop during long holidays. The teaching pace is relatively gentle but progresses strongly.
