Preface
Teaching research is a purposeful and planned academic activity that studies teaching issues, explores teaching laws, principles, content, methods, and means. Teaching research papers and teaching designs serve as important carriers reflecting teachers’ comprehensive abilities in teaching and research, promoting the transformation and dissemination of teaching theories, refining and spreading teaching achievements, and fostering individual growth and development of teachers.
In October 2020, the State Council issued the “Overall Plan for Deepening the Reform of Education Evaluation in the New Era,” which pointed out that “supporting the construction of high-quality academic journals for teaching research and encouraging university journals to lean towards teaching research.” In December 2020, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security jointly issued the “Guiding Opinions on Deepening the Reform of the Teacher Title System in Higher Education,” which stated that “the weight of teaching performance and teaching research in evaluations should be increased.” Against this backdrop, in order to better summarize and promote the advanced experiences and excellent examples of the TOPCARES educational reform in basic courses, and to further promote the transformation of basic course teachers into educator-type teachers, the “Compilation of Teaching Research Papers and Teaching Designs from the Basic Teaching College” (hereinafter referred to as the “Compilation”) was specially created.
It is hoped that the “Compilation” can provide a platform for mutual learning, communication, and improvement among basic course teachers, effectively enhancing their teaching research capabilities, thereby benefiting teaching and driving the deep implementation of TOPCARES educational reform.
