PAC BOT: The Eurorack Computer Running Windows and Linux Software

The PAC BOT is a product developed by Point And Click Systems in the USA. This product combines a single-board computer (SBC) and a color display. There are currently three models: PAC BOT 1 (26HP) and PAC BOT 2 (48HP) using Raspberry Pi, and PAC BOT 3 (84HP) using Lattepanda 3 Delta and Lattepanda Sigma, which can run Windows and Linux systems.

PAC BOT 1 and PAC BOT 2 have a depth of 60 mm, while PAC BOT 3 has a depth of 65 mm. Although they are quite thick, the ability to use a DAW and plugins in a modular synthesizer is still a great attraction, especially considering the heat dissipation of the computer board.

These computers can run up to 50 tracks and display them fully on a monitor. The front panel offers a range of interfaces, including a USB port, an HDMI port, and an RJ-45 port for networking. Expert Sleepers products seem to pair well with it; if you connect the ES-9 or ES-8 to the USB port, the PAC BOT seems to be a quite powerful “module workstation”.
