This competition, as a highly valuable professional contest in the field of embedded chips, serves as an important platform for talent selection and technical exchange in the industry, attracting top teams from universities across the country to compete.
During the preliminary round in the Southwest region, the team from Southwest Minzu University demonstrated strong capabilities, winning 1 first prize, 1 second prize, and 8 third prizes in the regional competition, achieving excellent results. In the subsequent finals, our university’s team stood out, winning 1 national second prize, while the university received an Excellent Organization Award, which is a high recognition of our school’s efforts in event organization and talent cultivation.

Award RecognitionEvent Details

This year’s National College Student Embedded Chip and System Design Competition, themed “Chip Fire Journey, Hello AI!”, closely follows the wave of artificial intelligence development, focusing on cutting-edge applications of embedded chips and system design. The scale of the event is unprecedented, attracting 735 universities, 11,800 participating teams, and 32,388 contestants nationwide, reflecting the strong demand for embedded talent in the industry and the enthusiasm of university students for scientific innovation.
After two days of intense and professional competition evaluations, participating teams fiercely competed on tasks related to embedded chip applications and system innovation design. Ultimately, 158 teams won first prizes, 311 teams won second prizes, and 550 teams won third prizes. Among them, the Ctrl+alt+win team from our School of Electronic Information, with their outstanding technical solutions and practical results, won a second prize, bringing glory to our school.
Behind the Competition

Behind the honor are countless days and nights of hard work from the participating teams. During the preparation period, team members, under the guidance of teachers from the School of Electronic Information, overcame many technical challenges. From optimizing the underlying logic of embedded chips to integrating AI algorithms with systems, every step was filled with challenges. They repeatedly debugged code and tested hardware during their spare time, consulted materials and sought advice from their instructors when encountering bottlenecks, and refined their competition entries through continuous trial and error.
Each member of the team complemented each other’s strengths; some excelled in hardware design, ensuring the stable operation of chips and systems, while others focused on algorithm development, endowing the system with intelligent application capabilities. This interdisciplinary collaboration not only contributed to winning the competition but also allowed members to deeply appreciate the power of teamwork and knowledge integration, accumulating valuable experience for future industry practice.
Support from the School’s Education System

The excellent results achieved by Southwest Minzu University in this competition are inseparable from the comprehensive support of the school and the college for undergraduate talent cultivation. The school has always placed great importance on cultivating students’ innovation and practical abilities, building a diverse platform for scientific innovation activities—from establishing specialized laboratories and equipping advanced facilities to setting up innovation funds and encouraging students to participate in competitions, creating an integrated education ecosystem of “learning – practicing – competing”.
The School of Electronic Information is deepening educational reforms in the field of embedded chips and system design, focusing on the goal of “edge-side artificial intelligence”. On one hand, it optimizes the curriculum system by integrating cutting-edge industry technologies (such as AI and embedded integration applications) into the classroom, making theoretical teaching align with practical needs; on the other hand, it strengthens practical teaching by organizing internal scientific innovation competitions and conducting internships and training in enterprises, enhancing students’ practical skills and innovative thinking. The awards in this competition vividly reflect the achievements of the college’s talent cultivation.
Conclusion
The competition results not only affirm the innovative capabilities of the faculty and students of the School of Electronic Information but also accumulate valuable experience for future preparations. In the future, the school will continue to focus on improving the quality of talent cultivation, deepening the integration of production and education in key areas such as embedded chips, strengthening cooperation with industry enterprises, and introducing more practical projects into classrooms and competitions to further enhance the level of professional development.
At the same time, the college will continue to optimize the teaching and scientific innovation guidance system around the goal of “cultivating high-quality talents with practical abilities, innovative capabilities, and teamwork skills”, encouraging more students to engage in innovative practices in embedded chips and system design, contributing to the development of China’s chip industry.
We look forward to students taking the award-winning team as a model and continuing to pursue their dreams in scientific innovation; we also hope the school will achieve new glory in talent cultivation and discipline construction!
