Departing from Fishing Port Village to Explore the Xijing Bay Triangle and Tongjing Mountain

On the morning of May Day, as the city was not yet fully awake, a group of cycling enthusiasts gathered at Fishing Port Village by Taihu Lake, welcoming the first rays of sunshine and embarking on a vibrant morning cycling journey, aiming to explore the Xijing Bay Triangle and Tongjing Mountain.

Xijing Bay
As the starting signal sounded, we cycled towards Xijing Bay. On both sides of the road, vast fields of rapeseed flowers bloomed brilliantly, contrasting beautifully with the blue sky and white clouds. The sound of tires rolling over the asphalt accompanied by birdsong created a picturesque scene. Upon reaching Xijing Bay, the surface of Taihu Lake shimmered, with distant mountains shrouded in mist and reeds swaying by the shore, prompting everyone to take photos to capture the beautiful scenery.
Tongjing Mountain
After a brief stop, we returned to the entrance of Fishing Port Village, took a short break, and then set off towards Tongjing Mountain. Starting from the Lingdong Village bus stop, the mountain road became increasingly steep, making cycling much more challenging. Under the blazing sun, sweat soaked our clothes, but everyone encouraged each other to persevere. At the moment we reached the summit of Tongjing Mountain, overlooking the vast Taihu Lake, scattered villages, and expansive fields, we felt a great sense of accomplishment.
Farmhouse Cuisine
As noon approached, we returned to Fishing Port Village and entered “Weijia Farmhouse.” Upon entering, the aroma of food wafted through the air. Fresh lake fish, crisp seasonal vegetables, and steaming rice filled the dining table. Everyone sat together, enjoying the delicious food while sharing cycling stories, creating a joyful atmosphere.
