Last week (October 31), Renesas Electronics launched the industry’s first ultra-high-performance MCU based on the Arm® Cortex®-M85 processor: the RA8M1 series microcontroller.
The RA8 series products boast an industry-leading score of 6.39 CoreMark/MHz, narrowing the performance gap between MCUs and MPUs:
● Includes Arm Helium technology to enhance DSP and AI/ML performance
● Exceptional security: Advanced encryption acceleration, immutable storage, secure boot, TrustZone, tamper protection
● Low voltage and low power modes to save energy
● A variety of “successful product combinations” designed for you
Key Features of the RA8M1 Series MCU:
● Core: 480 MHz Arm Cortex-M85, includes Helium and TrustZone technology
● Storage: Integrated 2MB/1MB Flash and 1MB SRAM (including TCM, 512KB ECC protection)
● Peripherals: xSPI compatible eight-line OSPI (with XIP and instant decryption/DOTF), CAN-FD, Ethernet, USBFS/HS, 16-bit camera interface, I3C, etc.
