Integrating Linux into Daily Life: A Guide to Home Server Setup with Raspberry Pi

As of August 19, 2023, the “Raspberry Pi Doesn’t Dust” series (also known as “Raspberry Pi Not Dusting”, whichever is easier to say) has been updated to 20 articles. This is a long-running series based on Ubuntu learning Linux, where each article sets up a small service on a Raspberry Pi running Ubuntu, including publicly accessible WordPress websites, personal cloud storage, personal downloaders, Wiki sites, HTTP resource sites, BBS forums, e-book libraries, music servers, video servers, automatic sign-in services, unlocking NetEase Cloud’s gray song list services, RSS services, remote desktop services, cloud server data backup services, etc…

The Raspberry Pi uses an ARM architecture processor with extremely low power consumption. Even when powering an external hard drive, the maximum power consumption does not exceed 15W, and it is only the size of a credit card, making it very suitable for use as a home server.

Using frp internal penetration technology, we can map the Raspberry Pi to the public network. Just get a fixed IP (24 yuan/month from Alibaba Cloud) to remotely access the Raspberry Pi from anywhere with an internet connection.

We can use the Raspberry Pi as a gateway to remotely access large devices at home, such as PS5 and Windows desktop, which are inconvenient to carry out.

Interest is the best teacher. If you are someone interested in Linux, following this series of articles will quickly improve your Linux operating skills. A Raspberry Pi that runs continuously will integrate Linux into your life and allow you to experience the fun of Linux.
