To improve this situation, the makeU device has undergone a firmware upgrade. Let’s take a look at the specific operation process for the firmware upgrade.
1. Download the firmware upgrade software

After opening the website, scroll to the bottom, find “Data Download,” and click to enter.
Select “make U”, find “make U Controller and Reading Pen Upgrade”, then click to download.
2. Unzip the downloaded file
Open the file and run the program shown below:
Connect the controller or reading pen that needs upgrading to the computer, and click on the corresponding device to upgrade.
4. Confirm device connection status
Confirm again whether the device connection is correct; if correct, proceed to the next step, or wait for the countdown to finish to proceed automatically.
5. New version firmware upgrade
The system will automatically prompt firmware version detection; if not, you need to manually click “Upgrade to New Version Firmware.”
6. Click to start the upgrade
Once the upgrade starts, the software will display a progress bar, and the controller will show alternating colored lights.
When the software shows that the firmware upgrade is complete, the controller lights return to normal, indicating that the controller upgrade is complete.
The operation method for upgrading the reading pen is the same as that for the controller; refer to the controller upgrade method.
What changes after the firmware upgrade?
After the firmware upgrade of the makeU controller, the following two changes were made compared to before the upgrade:
(1) The stability of the makeU controller is better, after multiple tests, the issue of shutdown during reading has not occurred again, allowing teachers and students to use it with confidence.
(2) The speed of the two motors built into the makeU controller has increased by 50%, making it more suitable for competition environments.
