Using Siemens touch screen software (WINCC flexible SMART) and Siemens S7-200SMART series PLC to achieve online simulation functionality with the simulation software of WINCC flexible SMART and S7-200SMART series PLC.
The main steps to achieve this functionality are as follows:
1. Establish a communication driver connection with the S7-200SMART series PLC in the connection item of the WINCC flexible SMART software. The specific parameter settings are shown in the figure below:
a: Double-click to open the connection dialog box
b: Select the PLC to be connected. Here, the PLC selected for connection is the S7-200SMART series PLC
c: Set the touch screen IP address. If simulating the touch screen on a computer, the IP address must match that of the computer
d: Set the PLC’s IP address, ensuring that the PLC’s IP address is in the same subnet as the computer’s IP address
e: Set the access point name, which needs to be consistent with the application access point of the subsequent PC/PG interface parameter settings
2. Configure the touch screen program monitoring screen and write the PLC program
For example, a simple case of starting a motor and monitoring its running time is explained.
(1) Create the necessary variables in the touch screen
(2) Configure a monitoring screen for the touch screen. A detailed introduction to the configuration process is not provided here,
(3) Write a PLC program for testing and download it to the PLC.
3. Set some parameter settings for the online simulation connection
(1) Open the control panel option on the computer. In the control panel, there is an option to set the PC/PG interface. Click this option to open the PC/PG interface settings dialog for configuration. (If you cannot find it, change the view in the upper right corner to small icons)
(2) Set the application access point and interface parameters
a. The selection of the application access point should be consistent with the access point set in the communication connection item of the WINCC flexible SMART software
b. The communication connection uses Ethernet, so when assigning interface parameters, select the network card name used by your computer to connect to the PLC, and the protocol is TCP/IP.
4. Start the simulation system in the WINCC flexible SMART software to conduct online simulation testing, as shown in the figure below:
