On July 30, Shenzhen IoT Media Co., Ltd. partnered with Semtech to hold the “2019 Shenzhen International LoRa IoT Summit Forum” in the Jasmine Hall of the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. The forum was very popular, attracting over 500 participants from the LoRa industry and gathering more than twenty top players in the LoRa industry chain for thematic sharing.

Enterprises Need to Find the Right Entry Point for IoT Opportunities
Mr. Zhu Xiaolin first shared that during the IOTE 2019 Shenzhen station at the same time, it can be observed that the IoT industry is developing in the established direction, showcasing thousands of mature IoT products and solutions from over 700 IoT exhibiting companies, reflecting the thriving momentum of the entire IoT industry.
It can be said that the market opportunities brought by IoT are within reach, but facing this market opportunity, different enterprises need to find entry points that fit their own business characteristics. Mr. Zhu Xiaolin stated that Ruqi Technology, as a veteran with over ten years in the telecommunications industry, approaches from the perspective of the IoT transmission layer, delving deeply into the transmission layer with a wealth of communication transmission products, including 2G/3G/4G communication products, as well as NB-IoT, LoRa, and other LPWAN communication products. Based on this, they have built the “RIV Smart IoT Open Source Intelligent Platform.”

The LoRaWAN Industry is Rapidly Growing
Currently, the LoRa technology industry chain is rapidly growing and improving, especially the standard LoRaWAN technology, which has huge potential in the future IoT market. Mr. Zhu Xiaolin also stated that LoRaWAN is a technology area that the company places great importance on.
In simple terms, the advantages of LoRaWAN are reflected in two aspects: the first aspect is its open system, including open standards, global standards, and strong certification processes; the second is its strong technical advantages and flexibility, including customizable wireless IoT networks, FOTA, wide coverage, and low power consumption (high power efficiency) characteristics.
Currently, the LoRa Alliance is also developing rapidly, with more and more global players joining this camp, including some industry giants.
Ruqi Technology also has a global layout in the LoRaWAN market, mainly consisting of three parts.
1. A complete LoRaWAN system platform solution, including terminal modules, gateways, and network servers, among other products.

LoRaWAN Application Cases Are Flourishing
Mr. Zhu Xiaolin concluded by sharing in detail the application cases achieved by the company’s LoRaWAN products. Based on LoRaWAN technology, the company has widely applied it in areas such as water meters, gas meters, smart consumption, natural resource monitoring, and smart lighting.

Smart Water Meter
In traditional water management systems, there is a statistic that 70% of water resources are wasted during the transportation of tap water, so water companies hope to monitor the transportation of tap water in the pipeline to address issues promptly and achieve resource savings.
Another demand of the water management system is the remote reading of smart water meters. Mr. Zhu Xiaolin specifically introduced two types of smart water meter solutions from the company.
The first type is the open CPU solution: Based on the LoRaWAN communication method, it utilizes Ruqi Technology’s intelligent module’s hardware resources to develop and achieve many functions of smart water meters.

The second type is the AT transparent transmission solution, where meter reading and application are mainly handled by the customer’s MCU, while Ruqi Technology’s module is responsible for remote communication. Based on the LoRaWAN communication method, Ruqi Technology’s intelligent module completes the remote data transmission function, and the company can also customize based on the customer’s AT instruction set.

The smart gas meter solution is very similar to the smart water meter solution, with two main differences. The first is the reading and status LCD display, and the second is that the safety protection level for gas usage is much higher than that of the water meter.

Based on LoRaWAN technology, it can help customers establish a basic firefighting equipment library and utilize big data for early warning/prediction/alarm rescue response. There are large-scale applications in industrial parks, commercial buildings, and urban complexes.

LoRaWAN Smart Lighting Precise Control Solution
In the field of smart lighting, the power consumption requirements are not high, but the real-time requirements are very high. In this application area, LoRaWAN Class C working mode is needed to achieve a system control response time of within 2 seconds.
In summary, LoRaWAN technology has extremely high growth potential, making it worthwhile for long-term layout. As the IoT industry matures, LoRaWAN continues to evolve with market demands, and its applicability is constantly expanding. In the future, LoRaWAN technology will not only be suitable for enterprise-level applications but also gradually embrace consumer-level application scenarios, while Ruqi Technology will continue to invest in LoRaWAN technology to keep pace with the times.
