On April 29, during the Shanghai International Auto Show, Chipone Technology and IP supplier Arteris jointly announced the deepening of their cooperation. They will collaborate on technology based on Arteris’ Network-on-Chip (NoC) IP to address the interconnect challenges in high-performance automotive chip design, focusing on high traffic and low latency on-chip bus interconnect technology.

Chipone Technology provides high-performance and high-reliability automotive chip products and solutions for central computing and regional control electronic and electrical architectures, covering areas such as intelligent cockpits and smart vehicle control. Arteris, Inc. (NASDAQ: AIP) is dedicated to accelerating the creation of system-on-chip (SoC) solutions.

In 2019, Chipone obtained a license for Arteris’ NoC IP for the design of the X9 series intelligent cockpit SoCs. By adopting Arteris’ latest generation NoC IP technology, the number of layout iterations can be effectively reduced, the risk of routing congestion can be lowered, and the internal communication flow of the chip can be optimized, enhancing overall chip performance, area efficiency, and power consumption. This collaboration with Arteris aims to leverage Arteris’ leading technology in on-chip interconnect and Chipone’s design experience in automotive chips to explore more efficient interconnect solutions that can handle increasing data traffic and meet low-latency storage access requirements.
