The Computer Electronic and Software Society (CESS) is presenting the “Python Programming Workshop” this month, offering students a chance to build practical Python skills. This one-day interactive workshop covers essential coding, debugging, and script creation, equipping students with real-world programming abilities. Specifically, the workshop serves as a foundation to help students excel in the upcoming TinyML Phase 2 workshop, building upon the basics covered in the first phase conducted on October 12, 2024. With this foundational knowledge, students will be well-prepared for the upcoming phase focused on advanced machine learning and embedded systems.

– This workshop is best suited for those who already have some understanding of Python programming.
– Students should bring their own laptops with the latest version of Python installed (3.9 or higher).
– A decent text editor akin to VS Code, Sublime Text, etc.
– Learn Python by solving problems situated around real-world scenarios.
– Learn basic datatypes, collections, functions, and exceptions.
– Explore the standard library and see what barebone Python has to offer.
– Utilize the REPL and debugger for quick and interactive development.
– Learn to face errors, how to read them, and seek help.
– Python best practices, gotchas, tips, and tricks.
