Recently, I discovered that the Asus Tinker Board series has a development board I’ve never seen before. It isAsus’s first RISC-V development boardnamedTinker V
In terms of naming, there is a change; previously, Tinker Boards were named Tinker Board 3, but this time they have directlyshortened the ‘Board’. This is good, as it clearly makes the model name shorter. The most interesting thing about this development board is that it usesRenesas‘sRZ/Five SoC with anAndes Core AX45MP RISC-V core, with a frequency of1.0 GHz.It is mainly used forindustrial gateways.Tinker V comes with1GB DDR4 memory, optional 16GB eMMC storage. In terms of interfaces, it hastwo Gigabit Ethernet ports. Two CAN buses, two RS232 interfaces. It also includes20-pin header. There are 2 x UART, 2 x I2C, 4 x GPIO, 2 x ADC, 1 x SPI, 1 x 3.3V, and 5 x GND.There is aMicro USB interface and aMicro USB OTG interface. The SD card slot has a5.5×2.5mm DC power interface, supporting a wide voltage input of 10V~24V.
The motherboard size isPico-ITX standard size,100x72mm.The board can operate in a temperature range of-20℃~60℃, which meets the wide temperature range standard, generally sufficient for most situations. The system can run on Debian and Yocto Linux. The purpose of Tinker V is quite clear, which isRISC-V industrial gateways.Currently, it isnot yet available for sale online, and the price is also unclear. However, it’s impressive that Asus has managed to create a RISC-V development board to test the waters, at least taking a step forward. Renesas’s RISC-V SoC is also being seen for the first time, with average performance. But I feel that this development board will be durable and robust, with characteristics that make it less prone to problems. All interfaces are industrial-grade, primarily focused on control. If you have needs for industrial gateways or similar, you might want to take a look.Welcome to visit our development board selection website, although it is not yet very complete, it has already recorded about 500 development boards.
