ACROVIEW Programmer Supports MPS Semiconductor MPQ5476 Power Management Chip

The chip programming leader ACROVIEW Technology recently announced the latest upgrade of its programming software and released a list of newly supported chip models. In this upgrade, the power management chip MPQ5476 from MPS Semiconductor has been included in the support range of ACROVIEW’s chip programming device, the ACROVIEW Programmer AP8000.

ACROVIEW Programmer Supports MPS Semiconductor MPQ5476 Power Management Chip

The MPQ5476 is a complete Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) that integrates four high-efficiency buck DC/DC converters and uses Constant On-Time (COT) control to provide fast transient response. Its 1000kHz switching frequency (fSW) greatly reduces the required external inductor and capacitor sizes.

The MPQ5476 achieves high light-load efficiency through Pulse Frequency Modulation (PFM) mode and supports Dynamic Voltage Scaling (DVS), Forced Discharge Mode, Power Good (PG) mode, and Shutdown mode via the I2C interface. The device also supports default voltage setting mode. The output voltage (VOUT) can be adjusted via the I2C bus or preset through memory.

The MPQ5476 controls the power-up sequence with soft-start functionality and delay time via the online I2C bus or memory.

The MPQ5476 minimizes the required external components and comes in a space-saving QFN-35 (5x5mm) package.

The ACROVIEW self-developed universal programmer AP8000 (one-to-one online/offline programming), (one-to-eight online/offline programming) and eMMC programming, UFS programming supports all chip models of MPS in bare chip (offline) programming and on-board programming. The AP8000 universal programmer consists of three main parts: host, baseboard, and adapter. Meanwhile, the AP8000 serves as a universal programming platform in the industry, capable of supporting the programming of all programmable chips on the market, and is also the core programming platform of ACROVIEW’s automated programming machine IPS5800S.

The host also supports USB and NET connections, enabling networking of multiple programmers for synchronized control of programming operations. The built-in safety protection circuit can instantly detect abnormal conditions such as reversed or short-circuited chips and immediately cut off power, ensuring the safety of both the chip and the programmer. The host integrates high-speed FPGA, significantly enhancing data transmission and processing speed. The back of the host features an SD card slot, allowing users to save project files generated by PC software to the root directory of the SD card and insert it into the slot. They can then select, load, and execute programming instructions using the buttons on the programmer, eliminating the need for PC dependency, which not only reduces the hardware configuration costs of the PC but also facilitates the quick setup of the working environment.

The AP8000 greatly enhances the expansion capabilities of the host through the combination design of the baseboard and adapter, currently supporting products from all major semiconductor manufacturers, including indiemicro, XHSC, ZHIXIN, NAVINFO, XILINX, and others. The types of devices supported include NAND, NOR, MCU, CPLD, FPGA, EMMC, etc., and it is compatible with various file formats such as Intel Hex, Motorola S, Binary, POF, etc.
