Function Overview

2.1. Arm® Cortex®-M0+ Core
The Arm® Cortex®-M0+ is an entry-level 32-bit Arm Cortex processor designed for a wide range of embedded applications. It provides significant benefits to developers, including:
· Simple architecture, easy to learn and program
· Ultra-low power consumption, energy-saving operation
· Streamlined code density, etc.
The Cortex-M0+ processor is a 32-bit core optimized for area and power consumption, based on a 2-stage pipeline von Neumann architecture. The processor delivers high-end processing hardware through a streamlined yet powerful instruction set and extensively optimized design, providing the outstanding performance expected from a 32-bit architecture computer, with greater code density than other 8-bit and 16-bit microcontrollers.
The Cortex-M0+ is tightly coupled with a nested vector interrupt controller (NVIC).
2.2. Memory
The chip integrates SRAM. SRAM can be accessed in byte (8-bit), half-word (16-bit), or word (32-bit) modes.
The chip integrates Flash, which consists of 2 different physical areas:
· Main Flash area, which contains applications and user data
· Configurable size Load Flash area for storing customer ISP/IAP bootloader
· Information area, 768 bytes, which includes the following parts:
— Option bytes
— UID bytes
— Factory Configuration bytes
— USER OTP memory
Protection for Flash main memory includes the following mechanisms:
· Write protection (WRP) control to prevent unwanted write operations (due to confusion of program memory pointer PC). The minimum protection unit for write protection is 4 Kbytes.
· Option byte write protection, with a dedicated unlocking design.
2.3. Boot Mode
Two different boot modes can be selected by configuring the bits nBOOT0/nBOOT1 (stored in Option bytes), as shown in the table below:

2.4. Clock System
After the CPU starts, the default system clock frequency is HSI 24 MHz, and the system clock frequency and source can be reconfigured after the program runs. The selectable high-frequency clocks include:
· 24 MHz configurable internal high-precision HSI clock.
· A 32.768 KHz configurable internal LSI clock.
· 4 MHz ~ 32 MHz external input clock
· 32.768 KHz LSE clock
For more details, please refer to the specification.
