Recently, it was officially announced that Xiaomi’s self-developed mobile SoC chip has been named “Xuanjie O1” and will be released in late May.
This sudden emergence of a self-developed chip has surprised many, and Lei Jun specifically emphasized that this chip is designed and developed independently by Xiaomi.

Xiaomi has done an excellent job of keeping this under wraps, and so far, no specific information has been disclosed. Everyone is speculating about the detailed parameters of this chip, especially the process technology.
According to Digital Chat Station’s revelations, this chip adopts the latest advanced technology, filling the gap in domestic experience for advanced designs below 5nm.

It is worth noting that last year, during a news segment on Beijing TV, Tang Jianguo, the chief economist of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, stated that Xiaomi successfully taped out the first domestic 3nm mobile system-on-chip.
Additionally, there is a report on the official website of the State Council Information Office published on September 27, 2024, which also confirmed this news.
Taping out refers to the process of manufacturing chips through a series of steps, similar to an assembly line. In simple terms, it means that the chip company hands over the designed scheme to the wafer manufacturing plant to first produce a small number of samples, test whether the designed chip works, and based on the test results, decide whether to optimize or proceed with mass production.
Based on the timeline, the Xuanjie O1 is likely this mysterious 3nm chip.
However, specific details regarding the CPU and GPU architecture specifications will have to wait for Lei Jun to reveal at the launch event.
