Currently, data has become the core resource driving innovation and development. The full release of data value requires efficient and secure data sharing among different entities. Among them, interoperability is a key element in achieving data sharing. Achieving interoperability requires technology-neutral protocols and standards that define how organizations and individuals participate in data sharing activities, acting according to mutually agreed rules and instructions. In the data ecosystem built on data spaces, all participants implement the same foundational protocols and standards, improving the standardization level of data by formulating and using unified data formats and standards, ensuring data compatibility and readability across different systems and organizations. In this regard, global innovators are actively promoting the standardization of data spaces, among which the Dataspace Protocol (DSP) is a representative. The DSP is a set of standardized norms that define the architecture and protocols required for entities to publish data, negotiate agreements, and access data within the data space, aiming to facilitate interoperable data sharing between entities under usage control and based on network technologies, ensuring interoperability among components and data space participants. Moreover, DSP is becoming an international standard. To help all participants in the data space gain a deeper understanding of DSP, IDSA has carefully prepared this technical seminar. This seminar targets data space developers and implementers who wish to delve into the implementation details of DSP. It will also benefit data space participants who focus on achieving interoperability from the participant’s perspective, as well as those passionate about data spaces and seeking to understand practical implementation solutions for achieving interoperability among participants. Experts in the field of data space standardization will also gain valuable insights from this meeting.Attached are the meeting time and registration link
Detailed Information of the Meeting
This seminar will feature four keynote speeches that delve into the current status of the protocol, its technical foundation, its significance to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) vendors, and how DSP manages identity information.
Speakers and Topics:
-
Sebastian Steinbuss (IDSA)
——Will introduceEclipse Dataspace Working Group’s current development progress, as well as the ongoing development of the Testing Compatible Kit (TCK).
-
Nicolas Auricchio (Eviden)
——Will share insights on the technical foundations of DSP based on his experience implementing the protocol inSimpl.
-
Arian Firouzbakhsh (IONOS)
——Will explain the importance of DSP to ICT vendors and how DSP ensures interoperability among different participants.
-
Matthias Buchhorn – Roth (Cofinity – X)
——Will explain how DSP interacts with identity providers. The data space needs to have the capability to convey participant identities and credentials to ensure data access security. Matthias will demonstrate how DSP defines protocols for confirming participant identity, issuing verifiable credentials, and utilizing decentralized architectures to validate and establish trust in displaying these credentials.
