The First Student Representative Conference

To further strengthen the construction of student organizations, enhance students’ self-management and self-service capabilities, and fully play the main role of students in the development of the college, the first student representative conference of the Internet of Things and Communication College was grandly held on May 21, 2025, in room 5401. The Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, Li Xiang, the Secretary of the Youth League Committee, Liu Qipei, all student management teachers, and nearly a hundred student representatives from various levels attended the meeting.

At the conference, Deputy Secretary Li Xiang warmly congratulated the successful convening of the conference and fully affirmed the positive role of student organizations in the college’s various work. He encouraged all student representatives to strengthen their ideals and beliefs, enhance their sense of responsibility, actively offer suggestions, and truly play a bridging role to promote the student work of the college to a new level. Secretary Liu Qipei summarized the achievements of student organizations in ideological guidance, campus culture, volunteer service, and rights protection over the past year, analyzed the current problems, and proposed future work ideas and development directions. Subsequently, the candidates for the presidium took turns to give campaign speeches, fully showcasing their personal experiences, work ideas, and understanding of student organizations. After the speeches, teachers and student representatives asked candidates questions about issues of common concern among students, and the candidates answered seriously, fully demonstrating their comprehensive qualities and critical thinking abilities. Finally, all attendees conducted anonymous voting based on the candidates’ campaign performances and responses on-site, fairly and justly electing the new members of the student union presidium.

Next, the candidates for the presidium took turns to give campaign speeches. After the speeches, teachers and student representatives asked candidates questions about issues of concern to students and voted based on the campaign speeches and on-site performances.

The convening of this conference not only provided a platform for student representatives to showcase their talents and participate in management but also injected new vitality into the scientific and institutional construction of student work in the college. In the future, the Internet of Things and Communication College will continue to adhere to a student-centered approach, support the healthy development of student organizations, and assist students in their growth and success, jointly writing the youth chapter of our college’s students.
