Relevant individuals have stated that in recent years, with the stable growth of Thailand’s economy, more development opportunities have been created for various industries and sectors, among which the printed circuit board industry is one. Currently, this industry in Thailand is accelerating its development, and in this context, Thailand is expected to become the world’s second-largest production base for printed circuit boards.
According to statistics from Taiwan’s industrial strategic research institutions, the output value of Thailand’s printed circuit board industry reached $3.5 billion in 2024, with an average annual growth rate of 7.6%. By 2030, this figure is expected to grow to approximately $5.62 billion, indicating the industry’s significant development potential. Additionally, the sales volume of printed circuit boards in Thailand is quite impressive, with 80% of the printed circuit boards produced in Thailand exported to markets such as China, the United States, and Japan. In the first half of this year, exports even increased by 8% year-on-year.
The strong development of Thailand’s printed circuit board industry is closely related to foreign investment. In the past three years, over 60 Chinese or Taiwanese enterprises have invested in this industry, including companies like Shenzhen South, Unimicron, and Shunhong, which have promoted the development process of Thailand’s printed circuit board industry.
Becoming the second-largest global production base has become the goal of Thailand’s printed circuit board industry. To achieve this goal, issues such as talent shortages and market policy uncertainties must be addressed. However, with the continued influx of foreign investment, the market for Thailand’s printed circuit board industry is expected to continue expanding in the future.
