A man’s pursuit and desire for horsepower and torque, whether driving a gasoline or diesel vehicle, is similar to his desire for women: the bigger, the better; the more, the better; it is never-ending. Consequently, many devices marketed as “computer mods” or “power modules” have emerged on the market, with some even more straightforwardly named “electronic throttle accelerators.”
For those without professional knowledge, encountering these products can be confusing. They have no idea how to choose between a product priced over five thousand yuan and a few hundred yuan one. Today, I will use my own vehicle as a test subject to conduct a combined test on several high, medium, and low-end products related to pickup trucks that I could find on the market. I hope to provide a clear and intuitive evaluation to assist you.
After watching this video, I believe you will have a new understanding of these three tiers of power module products. First, this product is the cheapest at 1288 yuan/set and is suitable for all pickup models. However, its performance is as average as its price. It only enhances the initial acceleration, making it feel faster and more powerful, but in the mid to late acceleration stages, such computer mods are basically ineffective.

Its advantages are that it is cheap, easy to install, and the initial acceleration improvement is very noticeable. The downside is that there is no significant effect in the mid to late acceleration stages.
This RAPTOR model is specifically designed for the 2017-2020 Ford F150 and Raptor’s SP-1 control board, developed by AG-Sport, the top ECU development team in the domestic racing scene, for a popular racing brand in the US (known in North America alongside APR, but less known domestically). The SP-1 control board is for the entire Ford F150 series and Raptor series produced before January 2020. Steinbauer’s turbo mod computer has five different sensors: turbo control sensor, camshaft position sensor, wastegate sensor, intake pressure sensor, and throttle position sensor. The Steinbauer mod computer collects data from these various sensors and modifies the signals transmitted back to the ECU, thereby adjusting the operational states of various performance components and the fuel injection amount to enhance power.
