Background
Sundance is a supplier of high-performance DSP and FPGA processor boards and I/O modules, supporting high-performance parallel processing applications in fields such as imaging, radar, sonar, analog, industrial control, and military.
The products launched by Sundance can flexibly adopt various industry-standard platforms (such as PCI, PCI Express, PMC, and XMC), combined with the latest DSP and FPGA technologies, giving the products high scalability. Their product processors include various categories using TMS320C6000 floating-point/fixed-point DSPs, Virtex-4, and Virtex-5 FPGAs, and can implement different sampling rates and resolutions for ADC/DAC or I/O boards based on various platforms. Recently, the Sundance team launched a DSP PXIe700 module that integrates different modules for multifunctionality.
PXIe700 Module
The PXIe700 board module launched by Sundance is based on the Xilinx Kintex-7 FPGA (325T/410T) 3U PXIe board, capable of completing very complex signal processing tasks and control functions. Figure 1 shows the PXIe700 module, and Figure 2 shows the internal structure of the PXIe700.

Figure 2: Structural Block Diagram of PXIe700 Module Based on Kintex-7 FPGA
The PXIe700 module developed by Sundance utilizes the SCOM IP Core, which can communicate with the host via the PCIe interface and provide user logic instances from the Kintex-7 FPGA to the host CPU and sample applications through a multi-channel streaming interface. This method is also applicable for accessing other IP cores, Windows drivers, DLLs, and user interface software. The PXIe700 module is also equipped with a VideoGuru toolkit, which allows the PXIe700 module to be applied in various video standard tests such as NTSC, VGA, DVI, SMPTE, and GigE-Vision.
In addition, the PXIe700 board also has several Sundance FMC slots, enabling the expansion of various functionalities. The following two images are two examples of expansion.

Figure 3: Left: PXIe700, Integrated with FMC-DAQ2p5 Multi-Gsample/sec ADC/DAC Board / Right: PXIe700, Integrated with FMC-ADC500-5, 5 Channels, 500Msamples/sec, 16-bit ADC Board
Conclusion
The PXIe700 board based on the Kintex-7 FPGA launched by Sundance once again applies FPGA technology to the PXIe field. The PXIe700 board integrates an FPGA chip internally, allowing it to connect with various functional modules, thus expanding the product’s functionality. For example, in the right example of Figure 3, it integrates the FMC-ADC500-5, 5 channels, 500Msamples/sec, 16-bit ADC board, among other different functional modules. The Kintex-7 FPGA, as one of Xilinx’s star products, fully demonstrates its strong processing capability and high flexibility through flexible connections with other modules, and we look forward to more surprises from the Kintex-7 series.
