The official development boards for Rockchip’s flagship chip RK3588 series are now on sale, with two products launched: RK3588 EVB and RK3588S EVB.
The RK3588 EVB is primarily aimed at AIoT industry applications such as ARM PCs, NVRs, servers, IPCs, and large display devices; the RK3588S EVB targets consumer electronics like high-end tablets, AR/VR, and personal mobile internet devices.
【Chip Introduction】The RK3588 is Rockchip’s next-generation flagship high-end processor, featuring high computing power, low power consumption, strong multimedia capabilities, and a rich set of data interfaces. It is equipped with an octa-core CPU consisting of four A76 cores and four A55 cores, along with an ARM G610MP4 GPU, and includes a built-in NPU with 6 TOPs of computing power. It has five major technical advantages:
- Built-in various powerful embedded hardware engines, supporting 8K@60fps H.265 and VP9 decoders, 8K@30fps H.264 decoder, and 4K@60fps AV1 decoder; supports 8K30fps H.264 and H.265 encoders, high-quality JPEG encoder/decoder, dedicated image pre-processor and post-processor.

To meet the performance requirements and product structure design needs for consumer applications, the RK3588S EVB has optimized its interfaces and board dimensions, measuring 20cmX14cm, suitable for high-end tablets, AR/VR, and personal mobile internet devices.
