During the Qingming Festival, Liang Yong, the Director of the Municipal Emergency Management Bureau, and Xu Qiangchu, the Director of the Forestry Bureau, jointly coordinated the forest fire prevention and control work in counties (cities) and districts during the Qingming period. They reported on the monitoring of forest fire situations during the March 3 holiday, analyzed the causes of fire incidents and control risks, and deployed necessary measures to strictly implement the forest fire prevention responsibility system, strengthen grid management, enhance publicity and education, ensure duty assignments, verify fire point information reports, and maintain 24-hour posts for forest firefighting teams.

On the first day of the Qingming holiday, the two main leaders also led a joint supervision team to the Matou Town and Liangjiang Town in Wuming District, as well as the Changshengling Cemetery area in Xixiangtang District, to conduct on-site supervision of forest fire prevention and control work during the Qingming Festival, further tightening the grassroots responsibility chain and ensuring a comprehensive safety net to protect forest resources and the safety of people’s lives and property during the holiday.

At key forest area entrances and cemetery checkpoints, the supervision team carefully examined duty arrangements and fire source collection records, emphasizing the strict enforcement of “mandatory checks for vehicles and people,” prohibiting the carrying of fireworks, incense, and other flammable materials to the mountains for worship. Liang Yong pointed out the need to strengthen multi-department emergency coordination, improve the early warning response mechanism, and ensure sufficient material reserves and rescue forces are stationed in advance.

The supervision team required all responsible units to strictly implement local management responsibilities, increase inspection frequency, and implement grid-based defense in key areas, adopting a combination of “fixed duty + mobile patrol” to ensure early detection and handling of fire incidents. Xu Qiangchu emphasized that during the Qingming Festival, worship activities are concentrated, and fire source management is key to prevention, which must eliminate hidden dangers from the source, ensuring that “mountains are managed, forests are protected, and responsibilities are assigned.”

The supervision team proposed to increase the publicity of civilized worship, utilizing various forms such as “village broadcasting,” promotional vehicle tours, and warning through typical cases to enhance public fire prevention awareness and promote changes in customs.

It is reported that the city has initiated a three-level emergency response for forest fire prevention during the Qingming Festival, adding a total of 1,236 temporary inspection checkpoints, forming 17 professional forest firefighting teams, and equipping over 2,000 firefighting equipment. Through daily broadcasts of fire prevention knowledge via “village broadcasting,” 12 civilized worship demonstration points have been set up in key areas, promoting green worship methods such as exchanging flowers for firecrackers.

This special supervision will continue until April 7, and the supervision team will also conduct a “review” in key fire prevention areas such as Xingning District and Qingxiu District to ensure the achievement of the goal of “zero fire disasters” in the forest and grassland within Nanning during the Qingming period.
