On April 11, 2025, the classroom of Class 9, Grade 2 was filled with the sounds of technology and childhood innocence. The Parent Classroom brought by Bai Yichen’s father – “3D Printing Creates the Future” – provided an immersive experience that combined knowledge, practice, and creativity, opening a new perspective for children to explore the future.
Technology Adventure
From the first 3D printer in 1983 to space manufacturing at the Chinese space station, Bai Yichen’s father used a “time travel” explanation to take the little lions through the technological revolution.
When they heard that 3D printing can be applied in the medical and aerospace fields, the classroom erupted with exclamations of “Wow!” The display of photos and physical models allowed students to intuitively feel the leap of this technology from the laboratory to households.
Magic Moment: The Color-Changing Chinese Dragon
“Cold water is blue, hot water is pink!” – The temperature-sensitive material little dragon performs a color-changing magic in the children’s palms. Friction generates heat, body temperature conduction… Experiments found that “quickly rubbing the dragon’s body for 5 seconds can trigger a “local blush”, and after resting, it turns back to deep blue.
Some students immediately thought: Can we create “color-changing safety signs” or “temperature-sensing toys” to connect scientific principles with real-world innovations?
Future Innovation Competition
“What technology is needed to print organs in the medical field? What advantages does 3D printing have in construction? Will we go to Mars or the Moon in the future?”
The rapid-fire Q&A session turned into a sci-fi conference, as the little lions enjoyed the future city model and all the possibilities it holds. Bai’s father praised: “Imagination is the driving force behind technological development!”
Love for the Future
Every brilliant idea is changing the shape of the world. I believe the little lions will continue to carry their imaginative ideas, exploring and creating more miracles in the field of technology!
