The OCP82131 is designed to support TFT-LCD panels with positive/negative drive of at least up to 10 inches (from SFF to MFF, such as tablets). The two outputs are typically connected to the source driver IC. This device uses a single inductor scheme to provide the smallest possible solution size and high efficiency.

It features a highly integrated boost DC-DC converter with a wide input voltage range of 2.7V to 5V. It is optimized for products powered by single-cell batteries (lithium-ion, nickel-lithium, and polymer lithium batteries) and symmetrical output currents of up to 120mA. The LDO and charge pump generate dual outputs of +5.8V (default) and -5.8V (default), with the voltage programmable via an I2C-compatible interface. The optimized boost, LDO, and charge pump converters maximize conversion efficiency, exceeding 89%.

Application Scenarios of OCP82131

The OCP82131 integrates all compensation and soft-start circuits, resulting in a simpler, smaller solution with significantly fewer external components. The high switching frequency (1.2MHz) allows for the use of smaller inductors and capacitors, further reducing the solution size.

The I2C-compatible interface allows for separate control of positive outputs from +4V to +6.5V and negative outputs from -4V to -6.5V, as well as programming additional registers on the device.
