The Jetson TX2 development kit is expected to be discontinued in December (This information is very important for users still using the Jetson TX2 development kit!)
Some users asked me: What about the Jetson TX2 module? Will it also be discontinued?
To answer this question, we need to understand the NVIDIA Jetson hardware and software roadmap.
Regarding NVIDIA Jetson modules:
Commercial Version:
– AGX Xavier (32GB LPDDR4X) module until 2025
– Xavier NX (8GB LPDDR4X) module until 2026
– TX2 (8GB LPDDR4X) module until 2025
– TX2 (4GB LPDDR4X) module until 2025
– NANO (4GB LPDDR4X) module until 2025
NVIDIA also stated that although the Jetson TX2 module will be supplied until 2025, the new design is the Xavier NX module.
From the roadmap, we can see that the NANO module will have an upgrade in 2021, and there will be an overall series of upgraded modules in 2022.
Industrial Version:
– TX2i (4GB LPDDR4X) module until 2025
– AGX Xavier industrial grade (32GB LPDDR4X) module is expected to go into mass production in the first half of 2021, lasting until 2031.
– New products will be available after 2022.
On the software side
Jetpack 4.4.1 was released in October.
Jetpack 4.5 will be released in December.
Pay attention! It looks like there are significant changes!
The next version will be released in Q2 of 2021.
I can’t wait to upgrade!
