Compared to traditional processors, FPGAs have advantages in programmability and parallel computing, allowing for customized configurations based on specific application needs. The image processing system based on the Zhongke Yihai Micro FPGA has significant advantages in real-time image processing due to its parallel computing capabilities and reconfigurable features, making it widely applicable in industrial inspection, intelligent security, medical imaging, and other scenarios.

Competition Analysis
This competition focuses on the application expansion of FPGAs, showcasing unique advantages in the field of image processing. Participants are required to use the Zhongke Yihai Micro FPGA development board to design and implement a complete image processing system, covering the entire process of image acquisition, processing, and display, and to develop innovative and practical image processing applications that have certain industrial application prospects and clear engineering practice value.

Image Acquisition, using the camera that comes with the development board to complete real-time image data acquisition. Participants need to design and implement the driving circuit for the image sensor to ensure that the image data can be stably and efficiently input into the FPGA;Image Processing, this part is the core of the competition, designing hardware acceleration circuits for image processing algorithms, with the goal of achieving target recognition and detection functions. Participants can choose traditional algorithms or AI models for target recognition and classification. The parallel processing capability of the FPGA can significantly enhance the speed and efficiency of image processing, and participants need to fully utilize this advantage to optimize algorithms and data path architectures to improve the frame rate of video streams;Image Display, designing the driving circuit for VGA or HDMI displays to show the processed images and recognition results. This stage not only requires reasonable hardware integrity design but also needs to ensure the clarity and smoothness of image display, enhancing user experience. Based on the visual development system and the expansion of visual applications on the development board, participants can showcase how to combine the image processing system with actual application scenarios, enhancing the system’s scalability, practicality, and innovation based on application orientation.

This competition not only provides participants with an opportunity to deeply learn FPGA image processing technology but also encourages them to combine practical application scenarios to develop systems with innovative and practical value.
