First, Disable SIP (System Integrity Protection)
Start your Mac and immediately hold down Command ⌘ + R until you see the Apple logo or a spinning globe, then release. When you see the “Utilities” window, the recovery function has started.
Click on “Utilities” in the menu bar and select “Terminal”
In the terminal, type “csrutil disable” and press Enter. This command disables SIP. After successfully entering the command, click the Apple logo in the upper left corner and select “Restart”.
The preparation work is now complete.
Download SwitchResX
This software adjusts the resolution of various monitors and supports HiDPI mode, eliminating the need to input a long string of codes to solve the problem.
Follow these steps to add configurations: first, find Custom Resolutions, then click the +
button (this step requires SIP to be disabled).
In general, a 2K resolution (2560*1440) is suitable, but after multiple trials, I found that 3840*2160 is a better parameter; you can try it yourself. After configuring, activate it and then restart your computer for it to take effect. After restarting, you will see the following configurations.
Then choose a suitable resolution based on your visual comfort.
Let’s see the effect. Before enabling.
After enabling, the top status bar and desktop icons dynamically enlarge, but it does not affect clarity, making it significantly more comfortable for the eyes.
Compared to doing it yourself, if conditions allow, it’s better to use 4K; the final physical effect is as follows.
