What will future in-car displays look like? Recently, the 48-inch ultra-large central control display of the Byton M-Byte has taken the headlines of major media, but this is not the only cool new display technology at CES 2020. There are three more amazing displays.
Continental and American Leia are developing 3D Lightfield displays.
It is reported that this 3D Lightfield display technology will be launched in 2023. The screen uses liquid crystal and LED backlight technology, allowing viewers to enjoy 3D images without glasses.
Funai Holographic Display
The Japanese consumer electronics company Funai Electric showcased a very cool holographic display, which is flush with the top of the instrument panel. When viewed from the driver’s seat, it seems to create a heads-up display that appears to float above the dashboard. According to Peter Swinkels, General Manager of Funai’s product planning, this display can even support touch interaction.
TanvasTouch Touch Screen
A spinoff from Northwestern University’s neuroscience and robotics lab in Chicago, Tanvas showcased a new tactile touchscreen technology that is being developed and commercialized in collaboration with Taiwanese/Dutch display supplier InnoLux. This is a touchscreen that provides you with a “realistic touch” experience.
