One day, after exporting photos,when I removed the SD card and tried to insert it back into the camera, it wouldn’t go in. The card slot’s spring kept rejecting the insertion, and it couldn’t lock in place.
I asked a camera repair technician at the Shengxian Photography Equipment City, and they said it couldn’t be repaired; I should just replace the card slot, which would cost about 300 yuan.Later, I discovered that the SD card was damaged and wondered if fragments from the damage had fallen into the card slot, blocking something and preventing it from being inserted. After shaking the camera, two small fragments fell out, and then the SD card could be inserted normally.
So, the question arises: if the SD card is damaged, does that mean it can’t be used anymore? Do I need to buy a new card? No, actually, the part of the SD card that truly stores information is only the size of a fingernail at the top.
We just need to spend a few yuan on Taobao to buy a new card shell and replace it, saving us hundreds!
In conclusion, if the SD card shows signs of aging or cracks, you need to replace the card shell. If the SD card won’t go in, you can gently tap the camera to let the fragments fall out. Never use a toothpick or tweezers to force it out, as it can easily bend or break the internal contact pins, and then you’ll really need to replace the card slot.
