I woke up this morning feeling extremely tired! It felt like I hadn’t slept at all yesterday! 🥱 So sleepy! I got up, washed up, and then took the company bus to work, clocking in. I was worried I might forget, so I clocked in twice!
There wasn’t much to eat in the cafeteria, just two buns, one egg, and a bowl of porridge. I had a hearty breakfast. When I got to my workstation, a colleague across from me started chatting and asked me a lot of questions.
After chatting for a while, the suppliers arrived. We had scheduled this meeting for Monday, and today they came to discuss. I talked to them about the product information we urgently want to obtain. During this time, I received a message from my supervisor asking me to calculate the energy density level of the existing sodium battery system, compare it, and plan the performance targets for the next year. After sending off the suppliers, I started working on this task, busy until noon without a lunch break, continuously calculating documents, optimizing the system formula, and designing product specifications, all while calculating energy density.
In the afternoon, I went to the security desk to pick up a package because the samples sent by the suppliers were gradually arriving. I got a small cart and spent a little while at the entrance finally retrieving all the samples. Then I returned to the materials room and organized the samples.
Back at my workstation, I continued to finalize the forms, prepared the data, and wrote notes. I sent the documents to my supervisor. My supervisor asked me to continue optimizing, aiming to benchmark against lithium iron phosphate, to elevate the battery to the level of lithium iron phosphate. I wanted to cry! It’s really not easy to do this! I worked late into the night and still didn’t finish, my mind was very confused, and I was even starting to get muddled about some specifications.
On the way home, I chatted with a former colleague about the data discussions related to the negative electrode specifications. After returning to my dorm, I took a shower, lay in bed, and continued chatting with today’s suppliers to gather information about C Company. After all, the current goal is to benchmark against C Company’s data level, so I’m trying every means to gather information. The final information I received was also a conjecture. Analyzing from multiple sources, since we can’t obtain C’s battery samples, we can only analyze from news reports and their partners, material suppliers. Their new sodium battery should core technology still replace traditional negative electrode materials by “growing” metal negative electrode structures at the atomic level, increasing volume energy density by 60% and weight energy density by 50%.
In this case, the data aligns. However, this is just our conjecture, as we cannot obtain the cell products, so it’s hard to say what specific technology it is.
