Current Development Status of Humanoid Robots

In recent years, the humanoid robot industry has accelerated its development globally, with China standing out in policy support, industrial chain integration, and technological innovation. The “Guiding Opinions on the Innovative Development of Humanoid Robots” released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in 2023 clearly outlines the goal of establishing an innovation system by early 2025 and achieving large-scale development by 2027. Currently, industrial clusters have formed in regions such as Hubei, Beijing, and Shanghai, with Hubei setting up a 10 billion yuan mother fund to support the humanoid robot and artificial intelligence industries, and Wuhan gathering over 50 related enterprises. On the technical front, domestic companies such as UBTECH and Zhiyuan Robotics have achieved mass production of complete machines and have applied them in industrial and service sectors. For example, the UBTECH Walker S is used for training in automotive factories, and the Zhiyuan Robotics A2-W has completed high-intensity industrial handling tasks. Key technological breakthroughs include the “brain” and “cerebellum” technologies: the brain refers to decision-making systems based on large models that enhance generalization capabilities, such as the Zhiyuan GO-1 model combined with implicit planners to optimize action sequences. The cerebellum refers to significant advancements in motion control algorithms, with Yushu Technology’s G1 completing complex maneuvers like side flips, and the Beijing Innovation Center’s “Tiangong” platform achieving walking on complex terrains. Core components such as high-precision servo motors, reducers, and sensors are accelerating localization, with Kefeng Intelligent releasing high power density drive joint modules. Data and simulation: China has opened source 5.5 million training data points and launched the simulation platform “Ge Wu” to lower development barriers. Future application scenarios include industrial manufacturing: replacing repetitive labor, such as automotive assembly and logistics sorting. Home services: elderly care and household collaboration, with companies like Datan targeting the 300,000 yuan family robot market. Special operations: rescue and medical scenarios that are high-risk. Commercial services: guiding and reception, such as the “Photon” robot from Guanggu Dongzhi, which is already in commercial use. Related A-share listed companies include Estun (002747): a leader in industrial robots, with stakes in humanoid robot company Koozoo Technology. Jinli Permanent Magnet (300748): a supplier of rare earth permanent magnet materials, participating in the development of motors for embodied robots. Shenzhou New Materials (688585): acquired by Zhiyuan Robotics, potentially injecting humanoid robot assets.
