1. What is Arduino?
By definition, Arduino consists of hardware development boards and Arduino IDE programming software.
You can think of it as a super-smart “little assistant” that excels at controlling various electronic devices according to your instructions. This little assistant is made up of a small circuit board, which contains a clever “brain” (microprocessor) and a bunch of “hands and feet” (input/output ports) that can be used to connect other electronic components.
Thus, Arduino is like a platform; if you want to eat fruit, it prepares water and soil for you, you can grow whatever you want!

You donβt need to be an electronics expert; you just need to learn to use the simple programming language provided by Arduino (it’s as easy as writing a short essay) to tell this little assistant what you want it to do.

Arduino is not just a magician in the electronic world; it is also a powerful assistant in real life. Below are some small projects based on Arduino made by seniors.
Drone Car
This is a drone car that can run freely on land and in the sky. When running on land, the wings can retract as the car moves forward, and when flying, the wings spread out.
Emergency Avoidance Car
Below is a car that can perform emergency obstacle avoidance. While ensuring basic transportation functions, we cleverly integrated ultrasonic sensing technology to give the car emergency avoidance capabilities. Once the car detects an obstacle ahead, it can immediately activate the emergency avoidance mechanism to ensure safe and smooth driving.
Smart Quadrotor Drone
The following work is a smart quadrotor drone. The key structure of the drone is its shell and internal circuit board, with its core function being flight posture calculation through the STM32 module, integrating MPU6050 gyroscope, BMP280 barometer, WS2812B full-color indicator lights, and other electronic components, while leaving expandable interfaces. This allows for 2.4GHz remote control and real-time monitoring of battery voltage and flight altitude, displayed in real-time through OLED.

In the field of scientific research, Arduino is also widely used. For example, in biological research, Arduino can be used to monitor the growth and changes of plants and animals; in environmental science, Arduino can be used to collect and analyze environmental data such as air and water quality.

Arduino Practical Sessions
Practical sessions will be conducted, and each assignment completed on time and meeting standards will earn you a practical card. Each practical card can be exchanged for 2 hours of practical box borrowing time. If you do not have a practical card, you will need to exchange using points, 1 point = 1 hour.

Arduino Challenge
With the experience from the first two sessions, we believe you are getting the hang of Arduino. Therefore, we will conduct an Arduino challenge on 10.25, completing Arduino 4, 5 times, and the final assessment task within 7 days. As long as you ensure completion and maintain a score above 70 each time, you will receive additional rewards, and we also offer generous prizes for the top members.
