Xiaopeng’s Robot: Beautiful to the Point of Terror

Recently, Xiaopeng held a press conference to showcase a new humanoid robot, which has generated significant public discourse. Among the most discussed topics is the notion that the female robot, dressed in white, conceals a real person inside.

Of course, while I admire this spirit of skepticism, I would prefer it to be a form of high-level praise. Despite my eyes and emotions prompting me to doubt, reason simultaneously reminds me that the Xiaopeng robot is a real objective existence and is currently one of the most beautiful robots we can see.

The reason the Xiaopeng robot raises doubts can be summed up in one word: she is too “beautiful.” This “beauty” is not merely reflected in her face and skin, but in the elegance of her movements when she walks.

It is precisely this beauty that has elevated the Xiaopeng robot to a higher level, transcending the beauty of mechanics and technology. The robot has evolved from a three-dimensional static beauty to a four-dimensional dynamic beauty.

This is fundamentally why the Xiaopeng robot repeatedly invites skepticism: something that should not resemble a human has become even more human-like. The “non-human” entity evokes not just simple excitement, but a deep-seated instinctual fear within us.

In this context, if we cannot quickly transform into another form of “non-human” or “superhuman,” we may soon find ourselves completely replaced by them.
