Recently, the domestic chip manufacturer Unisoc released a new SoC: T820, built on TSMC’s 6nm EUV process, featuring 1*A76 large core at 2.7GHz, 3*A76 large cores at 2.3GHz, and 4*A55 cores at 2.1GHz, supporting 5G, among other specifications. Yesterday, we summarized the main specifications, and today we will take a look at the performance of this SoC.
According to the benchmark scores disclosed by Kuai Technology, the Unisoc T820 achieved a Geekbench 5 single-core score of 639 and a multi-core score of 2283. The GFXBench 5 scores for the T-Rex, Manhattan 3.0, and Manhattan 3.1 1080p off-screen tests were 88FPS, 55FPS, and 37FPS respectively, which is roughly comparable to the Snapdragon 765G and Dimensity 900.
From the specifications, the Unisoc T820 appears to be a minor revision of the previous Tiger T7520, or an overclocked version of the Tangula T770. As a supplement, in the second quarter of 2022, Unisoc held an 11% share of the global smartphone chip market, ranking fourth. Currently, there are no announcements regarding the devices that will feature the newly released T820, but it is expected that manufacturers like Hisense and Coolpad will launch new mid-range and low-end devices using it.
