So what is placement?

In simple terms, it is “lottery“. The computer placement process has two rounds, namely the first and second placements.

What is the difference between the first and second placements in Changchun?

First Placement

Refers to the placement of private (including converted public) schools,which is open to the entire city. At this stage, all private schools in Changchun will enroll students from the entire city, and applicants can only choose one school to register.

Second Placement

Unlike the first placement, the second placement includes both public and private schools, with different enrollment methods. The second placement includes “public” and “private”, referring to private schools that did not fill their seats in the first placement as well as some quality public schools that will continue to fill their vacant seats in the second placement. Therefore, it is also called the vacant seat placement. Those who have been admitted to private schools in the first placement cannot participate in the second placement.

Public Schools

Public schools in the “second placement” generally conduct district-level placement. Eligible children with residency or residence permits in the district can participate in the district-level computer placement for a chance to enter quality public schools.

Note:Public schools cannot register across districts. Unlike the first online registration, public schools in the “second placement” will not conduct information verification, meaning that as long as the placement is successful, students can enroll.

Private Schools

Private schools, like in the “first placement”, will also conduct computer placement open to the entire city. However, it is important to note that only schools that did not fill their seats in the “first placement” will continue to enroll in the “second placement”.

Can I participate in the “First Placement” after receiving the “Degree Notice”?

The “Degree Notice” is an important certificate for eligible children to report to school, exchange for the school admission notice, and establish their student status.Everyone must receive it, and receiving the “Degree Notice” does not affect participation in the “First Placement”.

To ensure the smooth progress of the college entrance examination and middle school entrance examination, during the college entrance examination period (June 6-9, 2024),all primary and secondary schools in the city will suspend classes for two days (6 and 7); during the middle school entrance examination period (June 26-30, 2024), all primary and secondary schools in the city will suspend classes for three days (26, 27, and 28). Please each county (city) district and each school to make arrangements based on actual conditions, and in principle, to achieve unified arrangements within the region. During the class suspension, each county (city) district and each school must ensure educational teaching and student safety management.
