Recently, the IoT Community’s 2025 Neighborhood Festival was held in the Mingyue Jiangnan East District. This event, themed “Smart Connection of Thousands of Homes, Harmonious Neighborhoods,” featured five distinctive areas: Xiling Elegant Gathering, Flea Market, Fun Games, Science Popularization, and Convenient Services. It integrated the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage with modern technological experiences, attracting numerous community residents and becoming an annual event showcasing the warmth and innovative vitality of the community.
In the Xiling Elegant Gathering area, traditional intangible cultural heritage works such as blue printed cloth, rock color enamel, Xixing bamboo lanterns, and button knots were vividly presented to the community residents. Over a hundred exquisite pieces allowed residents to experience the ultimate beauty and craftsmanship of traditional arts up close.
The science popularization area complemented traditional culture, with a mobile science museum transforming into a science popularization caravan. Staff explained various scientific knowledge to residents, including waste classification, anti-cult, anti-fraud, and safety creation, subtly enhancing the scientific and cultural literacy of the general public. At the core of the science popularization area was a silver-gray quadruped robotic dog, performing anthropomorphic actions such as “bowing for the New Year” and “rolling over,” which amazed the residents.
In the flea market, residents displayed their idle books, crafts, and toys. The neatly arranged items attracted many children who stopped to choose, not only revitalizing idle goods but also cultivating children’s financial awareness, communication skills, and environmental concepts.
The fun games area was filled with childlike fun and challenges, with activities such as throwing pots, ring toss, archery, and parent-child quick response games attracting many families. It also allowed community residents to strengthen their relationships in a relaxed atmosphere. Everyone cheered each other on and shared game tips, making neighborhood relations more harmonious.The Xixing artisans provided convenient services such as shoe repair, knife sharpening, and sewing, accurately meeting residents’ daily needs and genuinely delivering thoughtful care to the community, earning unanimous praise from residents.
The successful hosting of this Neighborhood Festival not only provided residents with a platform to enhance neighborly feelings and enrich cultural life but also further consolidated the community’s cohesion. In the future, the IoT Community will continue to uphold the philosophy of “people-oriented, harmonious neighborhoods,” hosting more colorful activities, allowing residents to jointly write a new chapter of beautiful life in this warm family, and work together to create a better, harmonious, and happy community future.
