The 2017 Baselworld Watch and Jewelry Show is nearing its end, yet visitors continue to flock to the Herbelin booth. This French fashion watch brand, infused with its unique French romantic artistic atmosphere, attracts many attendees with its elegant design style.

The Herbelin Newport Connect Tech New Model
The Newport Connect Tech new model is one of Herbelin’s key launches this year, where classic watch design integrates with tech elements. The special feature is the ability to connect the watch to a smartphone via an app. The Newport Connect’s gold-plated case is symmetrically decorated with four embedded cross dots, and the edge of the inclined dial is marked in English clockwise to indicate its different tech functions: PHONE for call alarm reminders, SLEEP for sleep record analysis, ACTIVITY for exercise record analysis, and INFORMATION for information reminders, all with three vibration alerts. This tech new model uses the intelligent MMT-365 movement, the same movement used by brands like Panerai, Apina, Constain, and Ferragamo.
The women’s Newport Connect features a white dial and rubber strap design, enhancing its fashion sense. The striking gold-plated numbers and diamond-studded scales combine, while the center inner circle showcases glossy mother-of-pearl vertical stripes. The luminous long bar hands are filled with both technology and aesthetics. The men’s version adopts a more avant-garde and tough black dial and rubber strap, with understated and sturdy long bar scales. The center of the dial is distinctly different from the soft texture of the mother-of-pearl material used in the women’s version, utilizing a steel dial with vertical stripes, which adds strength and line sense.
The Herbelin 70th Anniversary Commemorative Watch
This year marks the 70th anniversary of Herbelin (1947-2017). Herbelin has specially launched a limited edition to commemorate the mechanical watch designs of its founder, Michel Herbelin, in the 1950s.
The 70th anniversary limited edition adopts this year’s popular retro bow-shaped dial and the cross design at the small three hands. The enlarged dial makes it easier to read the time clearly. The three-dimensional gold-plated conical scales and the toffee hands are inherited, and the gold plating layer uses a rare 20 microns. The end of the crown is adorned with translucent blue agate, while the warm-toned retro brown strap adds a sense of time to this style that looks back on the past. Retro is a style sentiment; Herbelin adheres to its consistent watchmaking craftsmanship, creating classic watches that leave no trace of time, which has been Herbelin’s eternal pursuit since its inception.
In addition, other new models exhibited by Herbelin this year are also quite eye-catching. The 70th anniversary celebration attracted the 2016 Rio Olympics archery champion Jean Charles Vaccadont. Coincidentally, this archery champion hails from the French town of Charquemo, which is also the beautiful town where the Herbelin watch factory is located. Additionally, the Herbelin 70th anniversary gala also attracted the participation of French Michelin-starred restaurant chef Xavier Pincemin. The warm lighting, a live band playing passionately, delightful French champagne, and colorful macarons, along with Herbelin enthusiasts from various countries raising their glasses to celebrate and witness this memorable moment together.
