1 Features:

HD67169 – A1 is a PROFIBUS slave/ Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) agent converter. It has the following features:

• Maximum support for read operations of 244 bytes, maximum support for write operations of 244 bytes;

• Provides electrical isolation between power and Ethernet, power and PROFIBUS, and Ethernet and PROFIBUS;

• Supports bidirectional information transmission between PROFIBUS bus and SNMP bus;

• Can be installed on a 35mm rail (DIN rail);

• Wide power input range: AC 824V or DC 1235V;

• Wide operating temperature range:-40°C to +85°C (-40°F to +185°F).

Configuration:

You need to install Compositor SW67169 software on your computer to perform the following operations:

• Define parameters for the SNMP line;

• Define parameters for the PROFIBUS line;

• Update the firmware of the device.

2 New Configuration / Open Configuration:

The “New Configuration” button will create a folder containing the configuration information for the entire device.

The device’s configuration information can also be imported or exported:

To clone the programmable “PROFIBUS slave/SNMP agent converter” configuration for configuring another device in the same way, you must keep the folder and all its contents;

To clone a project to obtain a different version of that project, simply copy the project folder and rename it, then use the “Open Configuration” button to open the new folder.

3 Set Communication:

This section defines the basic communication parameters for the two buses (Simple Network Management Protocol network (SNMP) and PROFIBUS).

Press the “Set Communication” button of SW67169 in the main window (Figure 2), which will pop up the “Set Communication” window (Figure 3).

This window is divided into two parts, one for SNMP and the other for PROFIBUS slave.

The meaning of the “SNMP” fields is as follows:

In the “IP address” field, enter the IP address you want to assign to the SNMP end;

In the “Subnet Mask” field, enter the SNMP end’s subnet mask;

In the “Gateway” field, enter the default gateway you want to use. You can enable or disable this feature by checking the checkbox field. This feature is used to leave the current network;

In the “SNMP Site Name” field, you can assign a name to the SNMP node.

The meaning of the fields in the “PROFIBUS slave” section is as follows:

In the “Device ID” field, define the PROFIBUS slave’s ID.

In the “Baud Rate” field, define the PROFIBUS slave’s baud rate (fixed to automatic baud rate).

In the “Input Byte Count” field, define the PROFIBUS slave’s input byte count (up to 244 bytes);

In the “Output Byte Count” field, define the PROFIBUS slave’s output byte count (up to 244 bytes).
