With the increasing popularity of digital reading, e-ink tablets are favored in office and educational scenarios due to their unique eye-care features and reading experience close to that of paper books.
Rockchip has launched the new RK3576 e-ink tablet solution, which is the preferred solution for high-end e-ink tablet products. It uses Rockchip’s self-developed algorithms, featuring low power consumption, low latency, high-definition without ghosting, and support for rich AI applications.
The RK3576 CPU adopts an 8-core A72+A53 architecture processor, integrates a G52 graphics processor, and includes an independent NPU with a computing power of 6T, meeting the performance and functional expansion needs of high-end e-ink tablets.

1. Ultra-low Power Consumption, Multi-mode Sleep, Comprehensive Upgrade of RK3576 Hardware Performance
As the next-generation flagship chip RK3576, it uses advanced processes to ensure high performance while providing lower power consumption, offering longer standby time for e-ink tablet products, allowing users to enjoy reading anytime and anywhere. The RK3576 supports a super standby mode called Ultra Sleep designed specifically for e-ink products. For example, with a 10.3-inch e-ink tablet equipped with 4GB LPDDR4X and a resolution of 1872×1404, the sleep power consumption is 1.5mA, 45mA for turning a page every 15 seconds, and the static interface power consumption is only 3.3mA, showing significant advantages compared to similar products on the market.

With the support of dynamic shallow sleep Lite Sleep technology, a 10.65-inch e-ink tablet using RK3576, with the same screen and battery capacity of 4200mAh, under the same conditions and operations, after 16.8 hours, a certain similar product on the market automatically shuts down due to low power, while the RK3576 product still has 33% power left, achieving a better balance between power consumption and response speed.

2. Cost Optimization, RK3576 Comes with TCON Interface
The RK3576 comes with TCON-EBC, allowing terminal partners to avoid the need for an additional electronic paper display control chip, significantly reducing costs. It supports hardware decoding and flexible innovative refresh algorithms; supports 8bit, 16bit screens; supports real frames and virtual frames; supports kaleido3 color e-ink screens, providing a better visual experience.
3. Fast Refresh and Low Latency Performance Upgrades, Smooth Interaction Experience
Compared to traditional fast refresh solutions, the speed of the RK3576 solution based on Rockchip’s self-developed fast refresh algorithm is increased by 2.5 times, with video playback frame rates reaching 22fps, and webpage scrolling and reading page turning are smooth and fast.
Moreover, with the support of Rockchip’s self-developed RK Dither anti-shake algorithm, the RK3576 solution eliminates flickering during fast refresh, making texture details clearer.

Based on the RK Auto Clear algorithm, it effectively removes ghosting in A2 and DU modes during fast refresh scenarios, providing both smoothness and clarity.

The RK3576, based on the self-developed hardware acceleration module, effectively reduces handwriting latency, with handwriting delay being less than 20ms, allowing smooth writing in any grayscale, supporting full-area handwriting while also accelerating third-party applications for a better visual experience. Based on Rockchip’s RKCFA algorithm, it supports color handwriting, achieving a writing experience equivalent to that of black-and-white e-ink screens.

Based on Rockchip’s self-developed continuous refresh algorithm, the RK3576 solution ensures the integrity of each frame image, allowing each character to be clearly displayed in fast typing scenarios, and making the operation of dragging the slider smoother.

4. Stronger and Higher Definition Display Capability, No Ghosting or Flickering, Enhanced Visual Effects
Rockchip’s self-developed RKREGAL algorithm improves efficiency by 4 times compared to screen manufacturers’ algorithms, effectively eliminating edge ghosting, displaying in higher definition, and supporting intelligent area detection to effectively avoid high-frequency flickering, enhancing the reading experience.
5. Enabling Rich AI Applications, RK3576 Built-in Powerful NPU
The RK3576 features a built-in 6T NPU, empowering products with rich AI applications, including wrong question collection, text enhancement, intelligent text recognition/dictionary lookup, OCR note-taking, OCR dictionary lookup (including text in images, such as scanned books and foreign comics), voice transcription, voice recording, real-time translation, etc., suitable for a wider range of application scenarios. From traditional e-readers to more powerful and better-experienced e-ink tablets, Rockchip continues to provide better solutions in hardware performance, screen display, handwriting experience, and resource ecology. As the next-generation flagship chip, the RK3576 will bring users a disruptive reading, entertainment, learning, and office experience in the e-ink tablet product field.
