On the evening of July 26, I completed my first live stream on Bilibili.
Starting from the architecture of the Linux system, I discussed the core concepts of the Yocto project, the current situation in China, and future trends. I tried my best to express the knowledge I have accumulated over the years in the clearest way possible. This was not only a technical sharing but also a sincere expression of my role as a domestic evangelist for the Yocto project.

🎯 Thank you to everyone who appeared in the live stream.
The entire live stream lasted for two and a half hours, with a peak of over 60 people watching simultaneously. Every comment, every “thank you, expert,” was a deep encouragement and support for me.
What touched me the most was meeting a fellow from Jingzhou, Hubei. The confidence of the “Nine-Headed Bird” made me smile in front of the camera—my first live stream brought unexpected warmth.

💡 Why do I want to talk about Yocto?
Yocto is not popular, but it is becoming the foundational building block behind mainstream embedded platforms. It represents a systematic engineering philosophy and is a powerful tool for addressing complex hardware compatibility.
I believe that as long as someone is willing to clarify difficult concepts, this path is worth pursuing.

📈 Opportunities and Challenges for Yocto in China
At this stage, there are still some practical issues with Yocto in China:
-
Scarcity of Chinese resources, leading to a high learning curve;
-
Incomplete support for domestic SoCs;
-
Insufficient community engagement.
However, at the same time, I see more engineers starting to pay attention to, experience, and research Yocto.
-
Chip manufacturers like NXP, TI, Qualcomm, and Intel are adopting Yocto;
-
Projects in industries such as healthcare, automotive, and IoT are gradually migrating to the Yocto platform;
-
A large number of domestic chip manufacturers are also accelerating their adaptation to Yocto.
I believe that Yocto is not obscure; it is just waiting to be ignited.
——
🚀 Next, I hope to do the following:
-
Build a Chinese Yocto community that is warm and reliable, where questions are answered;
-
Explore the integration path of Yocto with AI;
-
Promote better support for domestic chips in Yocto;
-
Create systematic, practical courses to lower the entry barrier.

❤️ In Conclusion
I want to share a message with myself and every fellow traveler:
Do not wait until you have resources to start; instead, win resources through starting.
Thank you, Bilibili, thank you to every viewer, and thank you for every comment and word of encouragement. This first live stream is just the beginning; we will continue to ignite the spark of Yocto.
