Cannot be powered on Beep mode: Measure continuity: wires, fuses, switches. Ohm mode: Measure resistance: heating elements, motors, leakage. Ω = Ohm, KΩ = kilo-ohm, MΩ = mega-ohm (leakage) 1KΩ = 1000Ω, 1MΩ = 1000KΩ (common range: 2K) (grounding 20MΩ-200MΩ)
Leakage: Measure insulation resistance. Greater than 0.5 mega-ohm: no leakage ✔ Less than 0.5 mega-ohm: leakage ×
Capacitance mode: storage container for electric charge, discharge before measurement. Code C: CBB running capacitor · CD starting capacitor. 1. (For less than 30μF: short-circuit discharge) 2. (For greater than 30μF: load first then short-circuit discharge) DC voltage: (DC): battery, battery + (positive) – (negative) energy storage. AC voltage: (AC): HZ frequency, L live wire, N neutral wire. Household 220V (190-245) is normal with a 10% fluctuation. Three-phase 380V (365-425) is normal.
Method to distinguish between neutral, live, and ground wires: Single probe measurement: the largest value is the live wire, the middle value is the neutral wire, and the smallest is the ground wire. (Use AC voltage mode with 750V range)
