On March 2, Meizu not only launched the new version of Flyme 9 today but also surprisingly introduced the Flyme for Watch operating system. Regarding this Meizu smartwatch, it was officially announced last year that it would be released in Q4 of 2020, but there has been no hardware news until today. The official finally stated that this smartwatch product will be officially released in May this year. Regarding the watch’s system, Meizu also dedicated a lot of space to introduce it, with the following features: a completely redefined design language and interaction method, specifically tuned ringtones and sounds to clearly distinguish from mobile phone ringtones. DIY watch faces with over 30 small components for your creative combinations; artistic watch faces to appreciate different artistic styles and experience diverse cultural trends; photo album watch faces that are suitable for both dynamic and static photos. Notification synchronization, bidirectional search between the watch and phone, music control, remote photography, independent communication, and many other functions provide a light and pleasant experience. The performance optimization engine OneMind from Flyme has also come to Flyme for Watch. It is deeply customized for the hardware characteristics and usage scenarios of the watch, with as many as 300 specific optimizations. In most scenarios, the system’s smoothness has stabilized at 60 frames per second, and in terms of battery life, the improvement is as high as 70% over the original.
