MediaTek Launches 112G Long-Range SerDes IP with 7nm Process

November 11, 2019 – MediaTek today announced the expansion of its ASIC services to include the 112G Long-Range (LR) SerDes IP chip.The MediaTek 112G LR SerDes utilizes a silicon-validated 7nm FinFET process, enabling data centers to quickly and efficiently process large volumes of specific types of data, thereby enhancing computing speed.

With this chip, enterprise networks and hyperscale data centers can effectively create next-generation connectivity applications to meet their specific needs.MediaTek has launched a comprehensive portfolio of SerDes products, expanding its ASIC services and solidifying its industry-leading position in SerDes products.

The MediaTek 112G LR SerDes is a high-performance DSP-based solution featuring PAM4 and NRZ signaling, suitable for harsh environments and noisy application scenarios.The chip is designed for LR, MR, and VSR applications, optimized for power in each application scenario, and boasts strong IP competitiveness in terms of power efficiency and chip size due to its latest 7nm process technology.Additionally, the 112G LR SerDes supports multiple IEEE standard speeds, including 1/10/25/50/100G and FC16/FC32/FC64.MediaTek’s 112G LR SerDes offers robust diagnostic and debugging capabilities, including a built-in data monitor that does not interfere with the main data path, as well as support for internal BIST and loops.
