How do we calculate the positive duty cycle for such a narrow pulse on the screen? We set the horizontal time base to 200us/div, allowing us to observe its two cycles. Since the pulse is too narrow, using traditional manual measurement with cursors is not the best option. What methods can the ZDS2022 provide?
The ZDS2022 oscilloscope has 51 types of parameter measurement statistics. Among them is the automatic measurement of the positive duty cycle. By pressing the 【Measure】 button, you can see 51 measurement parameters in the measurement item selection. Rotate knob B within the time range, briefly press knob B to select the positive duty cycle, and return to the main interface to see the duty cycle measurement result. It turns out to be a narrow pulse with a duty cycle of one ten-thousandth. When we adjust the time base to enlarge the pulse, you may wonder why there is no measurement result. This is because the existence of the duty cycle is closely related to the period. A duty cycle will only exist when at least one period appears. Therefore, when only one narrow pulse appears on the screen, there will be no duty cycle measurement result. By reducing the time base, we can display one period on the screen, at which point the positive duty cycle result will be automatically displayed.
